Spanish transcreation and SEO for a designer furniture brand
Project description
A young interior designer wanted to showcase his unique handmade furniture to international customers. He already had a website, an online shop and a catalogue in German and English, but needed support to launch in the Spanish-speaking market.
More than a direct translation, this project called for creative adaptation—so that the brand’s bold personality and emotional appeal would come across just as strongly in Spanish as it did in the other languages. To support international growth, all content also needed to be carefully localised and optimised for SEO—helping potential customers find the brand and connect with it online.
How I helped
Brand-aligned content in Spanish. I worked closely with the client’s original materials to adapt the texts in a way that captured the essence of the brand. I studied the brand’s tone of voice and visual style, then tailored the messaging to resonate with a Spanish-speaking audience. I focused on imitating the unique style of the artist’s business, which has a distinct personality that sets it apart from its competitors.
SEO that speaks your customers’ language. I read many articles and blogs specialising in design furniture. This helped me familiarize myself with the most relevant keywords in the market, which I then incorporate naturally into the content. The client also provided me with a list of SEO metadata that needed to be translated from German to Spanish. However, a literal translation was insufficient; I needed to localize it carefully to fit the way Spanish users search and browse.
Product descriptions built for e-commerce. Online product listings often require concise, persuasive messaging. I tailored each description to meet platform constraints while keeping the tone consistent and engaging, just like the original.
Consistency across channels. Using translation memory tools and custom glossaries, I ensured a consistent voice and terminology across all brand touchpoints—from the website and online shop to catalogues and press releases. This consistency builds trust and supports brand recognition.
An efficient, end-to-end process. To avoid starting from scratch each time, I implemented translation memories and terminology glossaries that incorporate the brand’s distinctive words and expressions. This approach resulted in more accurate translations with no errors or stylistic inconsistencies. Additionally, it ensured a consistent message across all channels, including the website, catalog, and online shop. Ultimately, this streamlined process saved the client both time and money.
More than just translation. Along with language services, I managed the project from start to finish—offering guidance, cultural insights and creative input throughout the process.

Expanding the customer base of Europe’s leading employee benefits platform
Project description
As Europe’s top provider of employee benefits portals—with over 12,000 registered companies—this client was preparing to expand into the Spanish market. To support this growth, they needed an in-house translator to handle Spanish and English translations, manage content within their CMS, and provide linguistic support to other departments throughout the company.
What I did
Tailoring promotional content for the Spanish market. The company works directly with prestigious brands suppliers across a diverse range of sectors, from fashion and travel to finance and technology. Each partner brand had its own unique voice. My role involved translating daily offers and promotional content, adapting the tone and style to fit both the brand´s identity and the expectations of a Spanish-speaking audience.
Helping the company attract and retain more customers. In advertising, cultural relevance makes all the difference. To truly engage your audience, you need to understand how they communicate—what catches their attention, what motivates them to act, and what might turn them away. While German audiences often respond well to a direct, concise tone, Spanish-speaking customers generally appreciate a warmer, more conversational style. Even the best offer can fall flat if it’s not presented in a way that feels relevant to the audience. That’s why tailoring the message to each public is essential for driving interest and encouraging people to take action.
Translating the new website and mobile app. As part of the company’s rebranding, I translated the entire website and app interface into Spanish. The goal was to offer a clear, engaging, and user-friendly experience from the very beginning. I worked closely with the head of the Spanish office, whose marketing expertise helped refine the final content, ensuring it aligned perfectly with the expectations of a Spanish public.
Optimising the content for search engines (SEO). Using SEO tools and keyword research, I identified the most relevant search terms for the Spanish market and incorporated them into the website content. This helped improve the site’s ranking on search engines, making it easier for potential customers to find the company.
Results
This company recognized that global expansion means local connection. By investing in high-quality Spanish content, they were able to speak directly to Spanish audiences, improve their visibility in search engines, and strengthen customer trust. In a competitive market, clear communication in your audience’s native language can make all the difference—and this company knew it.
Localization of e-learning courses for professionals in Latin America
Project description
A leading corporate training company partnered with me to localise over 30 interactive e-learning courses into Spanish for professionals across Latin America. The content—originally created in English—was based on book summaries and covered topics such as leadership, productivity, technology, marketing, sales, business strategy and personal development.
Objectives
Each course included text, video and audio formats, designed to deliver quick, practical lessons for busy professionals. My role involved translating and editing the written content, as well as adapting audio and video scripts for Spanish-speaking learners.
Natural, engaging Spanish that reflects the original tone. One of the main goals was to preserve the clear, concise, and motivational tone of the original English texts. While English tends to be more compact, Spanish requires more flexibility to sound natural without becoming verbose. Sentences that are too short in Spanish can sound abrupt or unclear if translated literally, so it was necessary to find a balance between fidelity to the original message, clarity and simplicity.
End-to-End Localization for text, audio, and video. I managed the complete localization process, including:
- Translating and revising written content for each course
- Subtitling training videos using AI tools
- Creating Spanish voiceovers with text-to-speech AI and editing them to ensure natural pacing, tone and clarity.
This ensured consistent messaging and a smooth user experience across all media formats.
Optimized for learner engagement. Because the English source material was already well-structured and concise, I was able to mirror this easily in Spanish. The result was localized courses that retained their educational value while becoming more accessible to a broader audience. The user-friendly Spanish versions empowered learners to absorb key concepts effortlessly and apply them in real-world business settings.
Results
The Spanish localization of these courses significantly expanded the client’s reach in Latin America. Many professionals who may have struggled with or avoided English-only content were now able to access high-quality training in their native language.
Working on this project was especially meaningful to me. I’m passionate about making knowledge more accessible, and I really connected with this client´s missions to promote learning through clear, practical content.
Spanish localization of an e-commerce website for handmade Christmas decorations
Project description
In this project, I collaborated with a well-known German company that specializes in traditional Christmas decorations. They recognized that translating their website and online shop into Spanish would create new business opportunities in Spanish-speaking countries. Having recently opened a shop in Spain, they understood that offering their products in Spanish would not only increase website traffic but also boost sales.
Objectives
Bringing a traditional German brand closer to Spanish-speaking customers. The goal was to help users feel like the site was made for them—not just translated.
Not all German Christmas traditions or figures have direct equivalents in Spanish culture, such as “Adventskranz,” “Räuchermännchen,” or “Christkind.” Even when there is a translation for a word, it may not be clearly understood because the tradition itself does not exist in Spain.
To communicate these concepts more effectively, I employed various strategies. For example, I would explain the tradition, provide a literal translation of the term with a brief explanation in parentheses, or use similar cultural references that conveyed the same idea. My goal was to put myself in the shoes of a Spanish speaker who might not be familiar with German culture, ensuring they could easily understand and identify with the products.
Optimised product listings that convert. Given the extensive and diverse product catalog (which includes translations for over 1,700 products), one of the primary challenges of this project was ensuring consistency in terminology across all texts on the shop and website. To achieve this, I employed a common strategy used by professional translators to build trust in their work: I created a specific glossary of words and phrases to be used consistently throughout the translation. Additionally, I developed a translation memory to store these terms, ensuring that they were recalled and used correctly in future translations.
Results
E-commerce content should build trust and encourage customers to buy. By fully localising the platform, the brand connected with more Spanish-speaking users. The translation kept the rich heritage of the German while offering a smooth, enjoyable shopping experience in Spanish.
Proofreading of a Spanish language textbook for secondary education
Project Overview
A German educational publisher was preparing its next Spanish textbook for secondary school students in Germany. They were looking for a proofreader with a strong background in didactic materials and hands-on experience in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
What I delivered
Accurate and learner-friendly corrections: My role was to correct formal errors and enhance the clarity and coherence of the text while preserving its original meaning. I carefully revised spelling, grammar, punctuation, and overall style. In addition, I rephrased some examples and instructions, so that students could understand and follow them more easily.
Stylistic consistency: Since multiple authors had contributed to the textbook, the writing style varied from section to section. I worked to unify the tone and standardize instruction formats across all lessons, ensuring that the final text was coherent, polished, and aligned with pedagogical standards.
Efficient digital workflow: The main challenge was that the lessons had been written by different authors, leading to varying writing styles. To ensure consistency, I aimed to use uniform structures for instructions and transformed disorganized or awkward passages into clear, student- and teacher-friendly texts.
Fast digital proofreading: Using tracked changes and in-document comments, I provided transparent and easy-to-review suggestions. This allowed the authors to retain control over their content while benefiting from a streamlined proofreading process.
Following this initial project, I was offered further opportunities to proofread educational materials for this publisher.
Translation of a children's chess book with rhyming stories
Project Description
WarumSchach, a well-known publisher, has released a charming children’s book aimed at teaching chess to young readers with no prior experience with the game. The author, Alexander Frenkel, wrote the book in German and translated it into English. He then wanted to expand its reach by creating a Spanish version.
This delightful book, written in verse and beautifully illustrated, covers the history of chess, the movement of pieces, and the basic rules of the game through engaging rhymes. In addition to the verses, the book includes practical exercises with solutions, chess trivia, famous quotes from world chess champions, and a “pawn” certificate for young learners.
Objectives
Adapting the language for the target age group. The book is aimed at children who might not yet have a fully developed vocabulary. Therefore, it was important to avoid complex or technical terms that could make the text difficult to read. I used simple words and straightforward verbs, utilized repetition, and included some questions and exclamations to make the text more engaging for young readers.
Preserving the educational content. The primary goal of the book is to teach children how to play chess in an enjoyable way. I was committed to achieving the same goal in the Spanish version. To accomplish this, I translated the entertaining stories that explained the movements of the pieces with simple, visual language. I also worked to find the Spanish equivalents for the puns, comparisons and cultural references that might not be universally understood. Most importantly, I preserved the humor to capture the children’s attention from the very beginning.
Maintaining rhythm and rhyme. Frenkel wrote the book in verse to make learning chess an enjoyable and easy. The rhythmic quality of the rhymes helps make the content memorable and turns the learning experience into a fun and exciting adventure.
I knew that I couldn’t translate the verses literally, as the charm and meaning would be lost. I spent hours adapting the rhymes to sound engaging and natural in Spanish while remaining faithful to the original meaning. This translation process required an “artisanal” touch so I relied on supporting resources such as rhyme databases and chess-specific dictionaries. Once I finished the translation, I hired a proofreader to review the text and assess the impact of the rhymes on a fresh pair of eyes.
Results
The Spanish version of the book received a warm welcome and enabled WarumSchach to connect with a wider audience in Spanish-speaking countries. Website localization for the technology sector
Project description
A top global technology company needed to launch a new Spanish website to better communicate its expanded offerings, values, and solutions. Localization was critical for the company to maintain its relevance and competitive edge in the fast-moving tech industry and to effectively connect with Spanish-speaking customers and partners.
Objectives
Bringing technical language to life. T While technical language needs precision, it doesn’t have to be dry or difficult to understand. When translating this company’s content, I balanced accuracy with a tone that was engaging and persuasive. The website, as a key touchpoint, had to impress and inform in equal measure, providing both clarity and impact.
Reflecting the brand identity: Innovation and digital transformation are at the heart of this company’s identity. The translation needed to convey the brand’s strong, credible image while highlighting its cutting-edge approach. I worked to ensure the tone was inspiring and clear, simplifying complex ideas while showcasing the company’s passion for innovation and its its passion for shaping the future of technology.
Preventing errors, inconsistencies, and style shifts. To maintain consistency across all website sections—from the homepage to calls to action—I used a translation memory, which kept the language and style uniform throughout. To ensure the highest level of quality, I conducted in-depth research into the industry’s jargon, consulted specialized glossaries, and worked with technical experts when necessary.
Collaboration for flawless results. The project was a team effort, with constant communication between myself, another translator, and the project manager (the personification of efficiency). This collaboration helped ensure we met the client’s expectations and kept the translations aligned with their style guide. The project manager facilitated feedback from engineers, which contributing to a seamless and high-quality translation process.
Results
The final Spanish-language website accurately reflected the company’s values, brand, and identity. By offering content in Spanish, the company expanded its reach to thousands of Spanish-speaking customers, strengthening its digital presence and reputation. This localized website not only helped connect with a new audience, but also positioned the company as a competitive player in the global tech industry, setting it apart from other international competitors.
Spanish translation of corporate content for the financial sector
Project description
This ongoing collaboration is with a translation agency that supports major multinational companies in the financial sector. I regularly translate and revise a wide range of internal and external corporate documents from English and German into Spanish. These include corporate presentations, employee surveys, internal communications, regulatory texts, and client-facing materials such as brochures and information sheets. Many of these documents contain sensitive data, so the client requires absolute confidentiality in handling this data.
Objectives
Every document has a different goal, whether it’s informing employees, presenting a strategy, or explaining internal policies. My job is to strike the right balance between accuracy and readability, so the final Spanish version flows naturally, reflects the company´s voice, and communicates clearly—every time.
Adapted language for different document types. Each type of document in financial translation has its own specific language and purpose. At times, it is important to be specific to prevent misleading or imprecise communication. In other cases, simplifying language and avoiding unnecessary jargon is crucial for better readability. In every case, I consider the culture and business practices of the target market to ensure that the content meets Spanish expectations.
Reliable, error-Free translations. The agency relies on me to translate documents for prestigious multinational corporations, which means there´s no room for mistakes. Only a flawless translation projects a professional image and enhances the company’s reputation.
Consistent corporate tone and terminology. Multinational companies need their brand voice to stay consistent across markets. I ensure that every Spanish translation reflects the company’s tone, style, and messaging, using glossaries and reference materials to maintain consistency across projects.
Flawless results under pressure. Agency deadlines are usually tight. The content must be polished and ready quickly, always prioritising quality and accuracy. My workflow includes quality checks, terminology validation, and smart use of tools to speed up the process without compromising quality.

I do not share sensitive information about my clients with anyone, either from this agency or any other, I never use free online translation tools, unless the client explicitly consents. My clients know they can trust me to treat their content with the utmost care and discretion.

Spanish translation of legal and insurance documents

For over a decade, I’ve been collaborating with a translation agency that works closely with a major multinational in the financial services industry. This company, based in Munich and present in more than 70 countries, relies on high-quality translations for a wide range of legal and corporate content.
Thanks to my experience working directly with this client in the past, I’m very familiar with their style, terminology, and internal preferences. I regularly translate and revise materials such as contracts, insurance policies, agreements, internal regulations, and corporate communications.
Objectives
Legal accuracy. Before I start translating, I analyze the legal context of the document to ensure alignment with the Spanish legal framework. I pay close attention to terminology, always choosing words that carry the correct legal weight and meaning in Spanish.
Clarity for insurance clients. Insurance documents must be both legally accurate and easy for policyholders to understand. I focus on clear, structured writing that avoids overly complex or ambiguous sentences, so clients can trust the content they’re signing.
Avoiding legal risks. Lack of precision in legal texts can have serious consequences. I meticulously review each sentence to eliminate any ambiguities. If a concept doesn’t translate directly into Spanish law, I find the clearest and most accurate way to express it without losing its meaning.
Strong terminology management. I use client-approved glossaries when available and maintain my own terminology databases tailored to each subject area. These include key terms, definitions, usage notes, and references to official sources—helping ensure consistency and accuracy across all translations.
On-time delivery. In the business world, timing is everything. I adapt to each client’s workflow and plan my work carefully to deliver high-quality translations on schedule—without last-minute stress. This proactive approach helps avoid costly delays and ensures the content is clear, accurate, and ready to use the first time around.

Spanish website translation for a brand specialising in infant nutrition
Project description
A Swiss company specialising in infant formula needed to localise the website for one of its leading brands, which is exported to several countries—including across Latin America. My task was to translate the full site into Spanish, ensuring the message resonated with Spanish-speaking families, especially in the Dominican Republic.
Objectives
Reach Spanish-speaking parents more effectively. To help the brand connect with its target market, I tailored the content to reflect the linguistic and cultural nuances of the Dominican Republic. This included vocabulary preferences, tone of voice, and even relevant payment and shipping terminology—crucial for building trust and improving user experience.
Build trust through clear and caring language. When it comes to child nutrition, tone and clarity are essential to reassure parents that they’re making the right choice. The language must be both informative and comforting. To achieve this, I used natural, empathetic language that reassures parents while highlighting the product’s key benefits—focusing on quality, safety, and expert-backed formulations.
Maintain consistency across all content. To ensure accuracy and coherence across the website, I worked with both the company’s official glossary and my own, which I connected to a dedicated translation memory. This allowed for consistent use of key terms and brand messaging throughout the project.
Results
The Spanish website helped the brand connect better with families in Latin America and reach more Spanish-speaking customers. Clear and trustworthy content made it easier for visitors to understand the products—and encouraged them to buy.
Bringing international entertainment closer to Spanish-speaking audiences
Project description
A Canadian company specialising in TV format creation and distribution was looking to expand its reach in Spain and Latin America To successfully pitch their content to local broadcasters and producers, they needed promotional materials—including programme summaries and marketing copy—translated into Spanish.
They knew that if their offering wasn’t presented in the language of their audience, local producers might look elsewhere. That’s where I came in.
What I did
Neutral Spanish with local sensitivity. For this project, I used neutral Spanish to ensure broad understanding across regions, while carefully adapting expressions, format titles and cultural references to suit local expectations. Small choices—like adjusting the name of a fictional character, deciding whether to keep the original series title in English, or switching between tú or usted based on regional preferences—make a big difference in how content is received.
A thoughtful approach that builds connection. Presenting content in a client’s native language is more than a courtesy—it shows attention to detail and builds trust. By delivering polished Spanish translations, the client was able to make a strong impression and demonstrate genuine interest in connecting with local partners.
Results
The translated materials helped the company promote its TV formats more effectively across Spain, Latin America, and at major international events—sparking stronger interest and more meaningful conversations with potential partners.
Improving customer service in a bicycle shop through a sonversational chatbot
Project description
A local bike shop wanted to improve customer service and streamline the buying process for children’s bicycles. To meet this goal, I developed a conversational chatbot designed to guide parents through the selection process—providing quick and helpful answers about bike sizes, features, safety tips, and recommendations tailored to customer preferences. The objective was to develop a conversational assistant that could simplify product selection and reduce pressure on staff.
What I did
Make information easy to access. The first step was to design a chatbot that could guide users smoothly through their search. I started by defining the chatbot’s personality, tone of voice, and ideal user. Using the children’s bike catalogue as a base, I adapted the technical content into simple, friendly language. Then, I created a structured knowledge base and shaped a flow of questions and answers that made it feel intuitive to interact with. Testing and refining the dialogue was key to creating an engaging experience that kept users interested and informed.
Make users feel guided and reassured, encouraging them to make a decision. The chatbot was built to do more than just answer basic questions. It could offer tailored product suggestions based on customer preferences and needs—making the interaction feel personalized and useful.
Build conversations that feel natural. Planning and writing chatbot flows takes a careful balance. I crafted a complete conversational strategy that balanced tone, detail, and ease of use. Responses were designed to be informative without overwhelming the user, concise without being vague, and varied enough to keep the experience engaging.
Save time for both staff and customers. By automating answers to common questions, the chatbot reduced the workload on the shop’s staff while giving customers instant access to key information—any time they needed it.
Results
The chatbot quickly became a valuable resource for the shop. It helped parents make decisions faster and reduced the number of repetitive inquiries to staff.
Improving machine translation with human intelligence
Project description
Machine translation tools have made significant improvements in recent years, but they still have limitations and require human expertise to reach their full potential and improve accuracy. A leading German company specializing in neural machine translation was looking for experienced Spanish linguists to help enhance the accuracy and quality of its translation technology.
This role demanded a strong command of the working languages—English, German, and Spanish—along with meticulous attention to detail, experience with translation quality control, deep understanding of lexicography, and more.
Objectives
Post-editing and validation of machine translations. My primary responsibility was to review and refine translations generated by neural machine translation tools. This involved identifying and addressing common machine translation issues such as ambiguity, polysemy, literal translation errors, concordance mismatches, and issues related to proper names and cultural nuances. Additionally, I was required to clearly articulate and document these issues to improve the underlying algorithms.
Contextual analysis and example validation. I was tasked with reviewing real-world examples from bilingual corpora to verify whether the machine-generated translations accurately reflected how words and expressions are used in specific contexts. This process required validating both the linguistic appropriateness and the cultural relevance of the examples, ensuring the translation models reflect natural usage across diverse contexts.
Data labeling and categorization. Effective machine learning models depend on high-quality, well-organized data. I was responsible for labeling and categorizing words, phrases, and expressions based on linguistic criteria (e.g., grammatical category, syntactic function, semantic meaning) to aid in the training and optimization of translation algorithms.
Analytical and problem-solving expertise. Working within the fast-evolving AI and machine translation sector required not only linguistic expertise but also a strong analytical mindset to solve complex problems. I used logical, structured thinking to address challenging linguistic issues, applying predefined rules and evaluation criteria consistently and effectively.
Results
What began as a single project has evolved into a long-term collaboration with a global leader in neural machine translation. By applying my expertise in language structure, grammar, and semantics for these projects, I helped enhance the overall accuracy of the translation system. This leads to more natural outputs, improving both the quality and clarity of translations for end users.
