Linguist, translator and NLP expert

I have a B.A. in English and a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain). Additionally, I hold an M.A. in Natural Language Processing.

Over 15 years of experience and a proven working method - Spanish translator in Munich

A bit more about me

  • Born, educated, and having worked in Madrid (Spain), I’ve been living in Munich for many years now.
  • I also lived in the USA and the Netherlands before I moved to Germany.
  • Despite growing up in a bilingual environment with a German mother and a Spanish father, Spanish was the predominant language in my home.
  • While I primarily work as a translator, I’ve never fully stepped away from teaching Spanish. I still enjoy creating materials for those passionate about the Spanish language and culture.

English and Spanish teacher

Upon graduating, I spent two years teaching English at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Later, I moved to Munich, where I taught Spanish at the Instituto Cervantes and several language schools.

Full immersion in the corporate world

While teaching Spanish, I joined the marketing and sales department of a TV production company, where I translated numerous promotional materials for formats in Spain and Latin America. Later, I spent eight years in the training and development department of Allianz’s in-house consulting division.

In-house translator

For two years, I worked part-time as part of the in-house translation team at Corporate Benefits, a company specialising in employee discounts and incentive portals.

Translator at Globalja

Translation and proofreading have always been central to my career, but in 2016, I took the step of founding Globalja, my own translation company. Globalja represents many years of managing linguistic projects, working with clients from different industries, and partnering with translation agencies.

Continuing professional development

Continuing professional development is key to my work, and I regularly make time to strengthen my translation skills and build on my specialist knowledge. For instance, through professional training in areas such as artificial intelligence, legal translation, post-editing, and computer-assisted translation tools.
